Joe Hamilton, Maintenance Director
Joe was born in 1938 in Grant's Pass, Oregon. He grew up mainly in Crescent City, CA and in high school concentrated on math, science, basketball, track and student government. College was at San Jose State, then Chico State for a B.A. in Science & Business and an M.S. in Economics.
Joe served in the U.S. Army Reserve and is a private pilot. His work history includes O'Conner Hospital in Santa Clara, the RAND Corporation (a research house) in Santa Monica, owning a produce distributorship as well as a bakery, and managing a wood moulding mill in Chico. Upon retiring from the mill in 2004, Joe joined the club to play tennis. He started volunteering for maintenance projects and in 2018 went onto the CRC payroll as Maintenance Supervisor.
In his personal life, Joe likes to keep busy and has had long-time interests in health, nutrition, economics, politics and aviation. He thinks another big interest—the universe—should be studied by most everyone (including high school students) because of its personal relevance and enlightenment value.
