The Chico Racquet Club and Resort welcomes Rex Stromness, CMT with open arms to his massage therapy and yoga services. Enjoy the following message from him! Hello -- My name is Rex Stromness and I am very happy to be associated with the Chico Racquet Club and Resort. I am a massage therapist and yoga teacher and will be offering my services to CRC&R members. I have practiced and taught massage for the past 25 years and have had a practice in Chico for the past 18 years. I do deep-tissue massage and Myofascial release and have also been trained in Swedish and Reiki. No longer considered a luxury, massage is recognized as an integral part of any ones health regimen, particularly physically active people involved with sports like tennis. As a tennis player, I know how important massage is in keeping my muscles and joints loose and free when playing regularly. Other benefits of massage are: release of toxins and lactic acid, relaxation, lowering blood pressure, injury prevention and a heightened body awareness
I also will offer yoga classes at The Club (Carol will give days and times) and am available for private sessions. Yoga is an excellent way for tennis players to improve flexibility and strength needed to improve your game, help you recover faster and, perhaps most importantly, aids greatly in injury prevention. Yoga is also excellent for improving breathing and developing a more focused and calm mind.....important for tennis and life in general. In private sessions I will introduce you to the benefits of yoga and give you a practice that you can do on your own. It can be life changing.
Massage sessions are done at my office and private yoga sessions can either be at my office or at The Club. You can reach me at 892-8583. I look forward to being part of The Club and to meeting you.
